These images were made as part of my project 'Nature in and around Banciao' during my artist-in-residency at 435 International Artist Village in Banciao in the end of 2007.
During my time in Banciao I searched for places that attracted me, for small oases of nature in a noisy city where nothing else seems to exist than cars and buildings. I found these places and made photos of them, had them printed out on rice paper, and later, in my studio, I added something with brush and ink, mostly phantasies that these small pieces of nature created in my head.
